Our lives are unique, held together by experiences and connections. Living Story gives you the opportunity to capture your life story in video form. Our experienced team will record your story in the environment of your choice using professional video and audio equipment. Once complete you will be able to share your Living Story with your loved ones. Your story will be held in our Living Story archive where it will be available to those that you have chosen to share it with.
We can't live forever, but our Living Story can.
Our Inspiration
It all started with a simple idea - to capture the voices of our loved ones while we still could. We've seen how easily stories fade, and how powerful it is to preserve them through spoken word, not just photographs. For us, it was about honouring a life well lived, through the eyes of the one living it. Too often, our elders felt their stories weren't important, but to us they were core memories we wanted to remember. After creating rememberance videos for our own loved ones, including edits for funeral services, we knew this was something others might treasure too. That's why we started Living Story, so no story goes untold.
Our Process
Living Story captures cherished memories and special moments in a professionally filmed and edited piece to be treasured for generations.
Honouring your story is our priority. We work with you and your loved ones to make sure you are fully prepared to tell your story on the day of filming.
You don't need to rush. We believe that authentic storytelling needs to be told in your own time. Filming usually takes around two hours, during which time you will be guided by one of our expert video storytellers. This is your time to reminisce on the past, talk about family legacy and capture your memories for your loved ones to look back on, remember and cherish.

Provide information

FAQ
A Living Story makes a great gift. Simply let us know when you enquire that the Living Story is a gift and we’ll help make sure the process runs smoothly. We’ll need to gather some information on the key points to cover in the Living Story, these can be provided via our online forms or over the phone. We do ask that a Living Story isn’t a surprise, so the person telling their story knows our team is arriving on the day.
If you’re not comfortable being on film we can capture your Living Story using professional audio equipment only. Let us know when you enquire and we can work with your preferences.
You can speak about whatever you like. We’ll be filming for two hours, so you can use that time however you’d like to.
We supply you with a link to a Vimeo Showcase that is accessible via a link sent to you by email. You are able to view your Living Story on Vimeo (using the link), send the link to friends and family, and download your Living Story to save it forever.
It’s best if you’re sitting down in a place where you feel comfortable. It’s great if this spot is near a window with natural light but our team will bring lighting if the space is a little dark.
We'll provide a Living Story thought starter sheet with some prompts to start your thinking. Chatting to family and friends about memories prior to your filming session can also help you think of things to speak about.
We encourage you to tell us about your family and friends as part of your story. If you wish to record together with someone else let us know when you enquire and we can work with your preferences.
Of course, we want you to be comfortable. A support person may even help jog your memory or help you add some details.
Your Living Story edit could be up to 2 hours long. Get in touch with us if you’d like a shorter edit to play as a eulogy at a funeral service. We can create an edit with a Living Story combined with photos you supply to us.
